The Headquarters of Damiani-Holz & Ko, as Encyclopedia of Wood-Based Materials
One of the oldest and most popular building materials in the world is certainly wood. This situation is not surprising, as it is difficult to find a more aesthetically pleasing, durable, lightweight and providing natural insulation one. In recent years, its use is becoming more widespread, the industry is making significant progress in the use of wood not only in small but also for large-scale multi-storey projects. From wood can be also done building’s envelopes, which is most often possible to see made from horizontal or vertical boards but there are some projects as well in which it is used in a much more original way, clearly demonstrating nearly limitless possibilities of this material.
In 1927, in the city of Brixen / Bressanone – province of South Tyrol has been registered at that time still a very small company Damiani Holzindustrie AG, which immediately after its opening started an active promotion of wood as a building material in Italy. This firm was the first, which initiated production of wood with rounded corners parts throughout the country.
In the mid of 90s the company began a new chapter of their professional life – was launched a production of wooden constructions on individual request. In that decision the essential role played the geographic factor because South Tyrol has always been and is still the only province in Italy where there were and are now carpenters and professionals of very high qualifications level working with timber.
