KNAUF Supported the Green Construction
In Moscow hosted the III International Festival of Innovative Technologies in Architecture in Construction - “Green Project”. KNAUF company has supported the event for the third time served as its general partner. Within the campaign for the collection of waste paper, anyone could hand over the accumulated waste paper in a mobile point parked next to the exhibition complex and get a prize at the booth KNAUF.
For professionals the most interesting was the panel discussion “The practice of green construction in Russia,” organized by KNAUF in the framework of conference “How to turn green ideas into reality.” This appeal became the motto of this year’s festival. At the opening ceremony with a salutatory word was delivered by the Director of Public Relations of the KNAUF CIS Leonid Los. He has pointed out that KNAUF Group pioneered the “Green Project” and for the company is very important to support projects and initiatives in the field of sustainable architecture and construction. KNAUF also conducts its own activities, attracting a variety of categories of professionals and enthusiasts of green construction. Between II and III Festivals KNAUF jointly with the Moscow State Construction University held an international symposium, as well as competitions for young researchers and students of architectural projects, categorized by topic of innovation in construction and architecture. According to the president of the Festival Larisa Malivanova, the “Green Project” could not have been effected without comprehensive support of KNAUF.
The major task and simultaneously the main problem in the construction of green buildings is to prove that the realization the discussed principles is fully possible to embody in practice, and not only in Western Europe but in Russia as well. In the central exhibition of the “Green Project” Festival every year grows the number of domestic projects. Each year their number almost doubles - in 2012, there was presented already about 200 Russian projects. Some of them might remain unrealized, but in the course of the panel discussion underscoring by its name - “The practice of green building in Russia” organized by KNAUF, they dealt with only those which have already been turned into reality. Moderator of this round table were Andrey Baghaturia, CEO of the “Architect Business Group” and Joerg Lange, president of the Club of German Architects and Engineers in Moscow, Marketing Director of KNAUF CIS.
