Super Wall Retail Destination

The newsworthy event in the retail sector is expected in late 2014, when in the Chinese city of Zhuhai, Guangdong will complete the construction of the international shopping center “Summer” (Summer International Retail & Entertainment Center), which is suppose to be one of the largest in the world. The mixed use development contains 360,000 sq.m leasable retail space together with commercial, hotel serviced apartment and residential accommodation the GA of 510,000 sq.m.

Shoring of the site is already complete  and it is anticipated that the piling of the development will commence in early 2012. Zhuhai which name in Chinese means “A Pearl Sea” is located in the south of Guangdong Province, on the west bank of the Pearl River and sea-going outlets, and on the shore of the South China Sea.

Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south. Zhuhai was one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s. Zhuhai is also one of China’s premier tourist destinations, being called the Chinese Riviera. The entire city had a permanent population more then 1,5 million people, mainly engaged in finance, trade and tourism. Annual number of tourists coming here is three times higher than resident population. As a resort and recreation center on the Chinese Riviera, also bordering the Macau Special Administrative Region, known for its casinos and nightlife, the city attracts both Chinese and foreigners. Zhuhai is a garden -style seashore tourist city, where colorful flowers bloom all year round, and trees and grass are luxuriant as far as the eye can see. The accommodations of Zhuhai, which is continuously expanding, are quite complete with hotels, restaurants, resorts, an amusement park, golf courses and shopping centers. Zhuhai was granted “the International Award for Best Practices in Improving the Living Environment” by United Nations Center for Human Settlement and was the only winner of this award in China. The western media has also appraised it as one of the top ten favorite cities of foreigners’. The emergence of a new multipurpose complex Summer International Retail & Entertainment Center will meet the growing needs of Zhuhai in retail and office space, to create a comfortable environment for shopping, socializing and living.
