Water World
According to most scientists, life originated in water, but water spaces are not used by people in the extent to which it would be possible. But the water - is a unique natural environment, a source of electricity, and huge undeveloped area. To learn how to make this a useful resource for life and rest, started thinking the architects of the famous Moscow architect Alexander Asadov Studio and then suggested a number of creative projects.
HOTEL ON SEA LEVEL
Buildings constructed directly on the water, still amaze our imagination, but for architects it’s no longer a brand new idea. Similar buildings are in many countries all around the world, and most of them are “luxury” class hotels and apartments. Wealthier people are attracted to magnificent views and healthful sea air. However, the construction of such hotels and their subsistence associated with the solution of many problems, primarily environmental. Is it possible to construct a building on the water space and not harm the environment? The architects from Asadov Architectural Studio came up with “Aerotel” project - conceptual design, which contributes to the solution of this problem. Outwardly, it resembles a spaceship from a science fiction Hollywood movies - the construction based on three high metal stilts looks as if floating above the water surface. Looking from some height it resembles a bicycle wheel: the round “ring” is crossed by numerous “spokes”, on which do arranged walking paths and numerous flower beds resemble hanging gardens of Babylon. Structurally this “ring” is a shell, inside which is located the hotel with restaurants, cafes and winter gardens.
The architects have focused on the environmental side of the project - the building is located above the water, but it does not touch it. Been survived intact almost the entire area of the reservoir located under the building. “Aerotel” exists in a completely autonomous mode. Building wastes do not pollute the waters, and reprocessed through existing recycling technologies.
“Aerotel” - a nice alternative to the nowadays popular alluvial islands, because such buildings above water surface have a number of advantages. This is not only the absolute environmental safety, but also the relative cheapness, and the ability to construct them almost on any body of water - whether it is the sea coast or the city pond. “Aerotel” certainly could become a popular tourist destination. Nowadays most large cities residents have lack of contact with nature, and many of them would choose the kind of vacation without causing damage to the environment. But the main attractive point is that the hotel offers a unique combination of different types of leisure activities: on the water (is provided as a series of marine and freshwater bodies) and in the air ... (accommodation and recreational areas). Finally, the “Aerotel” will be of interest for very sophisticated tourists as a rather extraordinary place. After all, even to get here, one will have to fly in a dirigible (incidentally, the project provides specialized berths for this) or take the ferry or boat, and then up with the escalator.
The conceptual project “Aerotel” was created on the basis of the “flying cities” idea. In 2008, Asadov’s Architectural Studio proposed the project for the Russian pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, made in the form of the dirigible. “Traveler-Hotel” embodies its developer’s notion on the best city to live, that was the motto of the held exhibition. In the future the project could be realized in the creation of a global network of unusual hotels. Elegant and spectacular “Aerotel” fully comply with the concept of “the city of dreams.”
