KNAUF Green Technologies in Low-rise Construction
Many Russians are dreaming to live the same way as people in developed countries, where the 2-3-storied private house has become the norm for the average family residence. The program of low-rise housing construction in Russia every year is gaining momentum - for the 1st half of this year’s volume of private dwelling in the housing construction accounted for more than 56%. Knauf Company promptly responds to these trends, expanding the range of package systems, materials, and even the model projects. Today, we are able to offer Russian consumers completely ready technical solutions, up to a finished house, which in the future, we will call “KNAUF-house.”
Construction of economy class low-rise housing that meets the requirements of energy efficiency and environmental safety is a priority for public housing policy not only in our country, but in most European countries as well. The concept, developed by Knauf, eventually integrates all the components of a modern low-rise housing, ranging from the idea up to the finished home. Over 19 years of presence on the Russian market, the company has developed and implemented various types of package systems for walls, ceilings and floors. Until recently, in this list were only missing materials for exterior and the warm envelope devices of the building. But since in our product range appeared “Knauf outer wall” system, the task to create the finished house-based technology company has been resolved.
This light, curtain frame-sheathing design having additional benefits due to a number of parameters, including energy efficiency and seismic stability, is a good choice for exterior finishing and facade walls. In such a house index of energy consumption for heating does not exceed 70 kW/h per 1 sq. m. a year that corresponds to the international requirements for buildings without special technical “stuffing”. Compared to SNiPs, in which for Moscow and Moscow region is set the index of 130 - 140 kW/h per 1 sq. m. a year in our house is saved up to 50% of energy consumed for heating.
In Russia, we have already launched two pilot projects of lowrise construction. One of them - in the Krasnodar region, where under construction is gated development “Kurortnii” (Goryachii Klyuch city). There are built low-rise houses on a frame-beam technology, in which Knauf materials are used both inside and outside, and the exterior walling is finished on the base of “Knauf outer wall” package system.
To date, is ready the first line of the settlement, received an eloquent name of “Mini-Bayern.” In the area of several acres were deployed ten single-family two-story frame houses built using model design and estimate documentation, developed by specialists of the company Knauf.
