In the framework of the Beijing Design Week, held in the autumn of 2015, the international architectural studio Penda presented its latest development – ‘Rising Canes’ Pavilion - structural system, which is entirely made out of Bamboo and ropes. This Pavilion can be seen as a first step of many to follow, as the structural system is fully modular, ecological and easy to expand in every direction. They chose Bamboo as a main construction material, as it has long traditional roots in China and is a fantastic building material, which currently leads to underrated existence in the architectural process of construction.

Bristol is the UK’s first European Green Capital – an inspired choice, not only for its green spaces and easy access to the countryside, but for its enthusiasm for all things sustainable. This year from May 1 to October 31 in Milan is held World Expo 2015 under the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. All of the expositions are devoted to issues related to food security and eco-sustainable development on the planet Earth. At the opening ceremony Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said that the need to eliminate the contradiction - on the planet exists an absurd imbalance: a billion people are constantly are malnourished, and another billion is eating too much or eating unhealthy foods.

Miralles Tagliabue EMBT designs a dome for COPA GRI (‘Love IT’ – Real Italian Food) as part of the Expo Milano 2015. The dome will be located in the southeast part of the Lake Arena – a large circular pool of water at the end of the Cardo, one of the main axes of the Expo Milano 2015 masterplan – and surrounded by the European Union Pavilion and the Vanke Pavilion.

The new square dedicated to Gino Valle, the focus of the urban development plan of the Portello area, opened to the public at the same time as the inauguration of Expo 2015. The square, the largest in Milan, can now be reached by a cycle path that starts in the CityLife park and which, crossing all the pavilions of the former Fair, passes through it projecting itself towards the parks of the western belt and the area dedicated to the World Fair.

Miralles Tagliabue EMBT and Bordas+Peiro have been announced as winner among 5 proposals of a two stage competition organized by the Société du Grand París, to design the future metro station Clichy – Montfermeil in Paris, France.
