In one of the central districts of Melbourne - Carlton, on the site where formerly renowned Australian brewery Carlton & United Breweries (CUB), is implemented one of the most important and ambitious projects in the field of commercial real estate. Due to its privileged location, at the design stage Pixel became a subject of debate and speculation. However, in 2010 the construction of the first office building in Australia with zero CO2 emissions fully satisfies domestic demands for water and energy has been successfully completed.

BIG + ARCHITECTURAL NEXUS win the architectural competition for the Kimball Art Center in UTAH, USA. The Kimball Art Center, home to Sundance House during the Annual Sundance Film Festival, invited an international group of architects to submit designs for an interior renovation of the existing Kimball Art Center and the construction of a new building directly adjacent to the original, located centrally in Park City, Utah. The number of tourists who come here greatly exceeds the number of permanent residents.

It is better to erect buildings being a part of the environment. The nature is a single whole and has own lows, order and tempo. A notion “health house” means houses where the man feels good and they are in harmony with the environment. The order of the nature doesn’t change or depends on us. We should recognize and adapt to peculiarities of the nature which are behind our understanding and can’t be changed. Before starting a development it is necessary to recognize an influence of the building on the health and peace of inhabitants’ mind and think about the influence on the environment.

The projects will be honored at the AIA 2012 National Convention and Design Exposition in Washington, D.C.
