These and other projects all over the world has been developed by an international team of architects – Peter Ebner and friends. The company was founded by the Austrian architect Peter Ebner, who always finds creative solutions for any particular challenge. He considers his partners primar ily friends and ready to accept any of their ideas, as well as the ideas of his students, with whom he works in his FutureLAB . Zaha Hadid together with a group of architects has radically changed the China’s skyline over the last years. Their modernizations, which have flooded China, feature incredible conceptual integrity. The building’s skylines and the shape looks like a new sign by Zaha, we feel to see something different from the usual drawing used like “Hadid – brand”.

Architect Vincent Callebaut never ceases to amaze the world with his futuristic designs. There is reason to believe that the project named “THE FLAVOURS OR CHARD ” will be implemented in China. This future eco-city is to be built in the city of Kunming , Dianchi Lake, in Yunnan Province. 45 plus-energy (bepos) villas will operate on the “smart house” principles and have a positive energy balance. The project will create an entirely new environment and thereby blur the line between city and countryside.

This innovative project of the first semisubmerged hotel resort called Amphibious was designed for an Arabian commission. It appearance reminds of a big aquatic animal stretching out from the land into the sea and extends horizontally for 1km thanks to two long wide arms. The project is composed of a land section and sea section. All the structures are situated in a semi-circle around the tower with the panoramic restaurant.

Al Dhakira is a small city developing on the oriental coast of Qatar, only 60 km far from the capital Doha. Grown on a natural creek, where the sea extends itself to the desert, Al Dhakira holds a fertile oasis where mangroves flourish and local animals can find shelter in a natural habitat unique in this area.

We continue to serialize chapters from the book “Sustainable Architecture in Japan: The Continuing Challenge 1900–2010 & Beyond “, published to coincide with the 110th anniversary of Nikken Sekkei. In the previous issues of our magazine (“Green Buildings”, 2013, № 2-4; 2014, № 1), we brought to your attention the chapters dealing with the projects, in which design were used natural phenomena such as light, heat, wind, and water. Now let’s focus on the underground architecture and use of geothermal energy.
